Hello and welcome to another week’s worth of comics. It’s a pretty big week for some of our staff, and there are quite a few amazing comics being released this week. So, to not bore you any longer, let’s get on with this week’s installement of  The Weekly Pull List!

What’s on YOUR Pull List?

Mike Rapin

  • ALL NEW X-FACTOR #2
  • ALL NEW X-MEN #22.NOW
  • ANIMAL MAN #27
  • CABLE AND X-FORCE #19
  • FF #16
  • HAWKEYE #16
  • MARVEL KNIGHTS X-MEN #3
  • MASSIVE #19
  • SEX #10
  • WALKING DEAD #120
  • WOLVERINE AND X-MEN #40
  • X-MEN #9
  • ZERO #5

Sort of a bigger week for me.

Zero is, I think, coming to a close on the first arc or sorts, which is damn exciting. Been loving this series.

The Walking Dead is my last issue with this series. I don’t care. I don’t care. I. Just. Don’t. Care. Whatever.

Hawkeye is back to Clint, which is damn exciting since I flipping miss him, even if it’s only been an issue since we last saw him.

And All New X-Factor… was kind of weird for me. I need #2 to be great. I don’t want this series to flop given that issue #1 was very… off. Maybe it’s a bigger story. Maybe it was the art. I just can’t tell at this point.

Finally, Cable & X-Factor is coming close to it’s end, and I’m okay with that. It’s been fun, and Forge + Doctor Nemesis will always be a great pair of scientists/crazy people. It’s sort of Sad to see the series go, though.

  • HARLEY QUINN #2
  • HAWKEYE #16
  • PRETTY DEADLY #4
  • UMBRAL #3

Although I’m enjoying Harley Quinn so far, I’m still a little nervous about the series. The story that’s been set up so far looks good, but writing a crazy, anti hero-esque protagonist has proven difficult in the past.

Pretty Deadly and Umbral are blowing me away. They’re both very pretty comics with intriguing stories. Other than the legendary Saga, these are two of my most anticipated comics each month.

I’m not so sure about Hawkeye. I really liked the series when it first came out. It’s still a good story but I just don’t care about Kate Bishop enough to read about her for an entire issue. I guess what I’m really hoping is that Hawkeye will go back to shooting boomerang arrows instead of sadness arrows soon.

  • Batman #27
  • Batman and Two-Face #27
  • FF #16
  • Hawkeye #16
  • Judge Dredd Mega-City Two #1

FF wraps up its run this month, and although the series was uneven at times, I’m really going to miss those crazy kids.

There’s a double dose of the Caped Crusader this week. In Batman, the ‘Zero Year’ story rolls on. It’s been an interesting take on the character’s origin, and Greg Capullo’s art has been spectacular as usual. Similarly, Patrick Gleason’s art in Batman and Two-Face makes the book worth checking out.

I recently started reading some older Judge Dredd stuff, and Douglas Wolk’s Dredd Reckoning blog has been an invaluable resource for understanding the character. That’s why I’m excited to see Wolk take a stab at writing Dredd with the Judge Dredd Mega-City Two miniseries.

  • BATMAN #27
  • DEAD BODY ROAD #2
  • DEADLY CLASS #1
  • JUDGE DREDD MEGA-CITY TWO #1
  • MIDAS FLESH #2
  • PRETTY DEADLY #4
  • UMBRAL #3
  • ZERO #5

Dead Body Road had an interesting set up in issue #1, and I’m a big fan of revenge stories. This one seems really, really promising. And you can never go wrong with Scalera’s incredible art.

Any comic book set in the Bay Area gets an immediate pull from me. But honestly the team of Remender and Craig really get me excited for this twisted tale of children assassins in Deadly Class.

Midas Flesh was quite possibly one of the most interesting synopses I had read in a while, and I was a little hesitant to buy it, but I’m glad I did. This is going to be a great little mini series!

Pretty Deadly got really, really, really good last issues, and it’s only going to get better.

I’ve already stated that Zero is the breakout, seemingly unknown new release of last year, and I can’t wait to see where it goes. I am Agent Zero’s number one fan.

  • 12 Reasons to Die

Not sure how I feel about this only getting one issue a week business. It is a new sensation to me.

Well, it’s been a long road to get the last issue of 12 Reasons to Die. It has been an interesting read and I’m hoping the series will end on a high and somber note as this is what it’s been building to. Has been nice to read a ghost story involving music, an Italian mafia, and revenge. Hoping there won’t be a followup series as somethings just do better as is.

Attention! DIDJA GET WHAT YA NEED? HOW ABOUT DEM COMICS?
