Tuesday Twist-off — at the speed of an IBM computer!!
October 7th, 2008
So kiddies. This last week was a tiny one for Marvel and since I’m a biased little boy and read primarily Marvel titles I was a bit sad. Nevertheless, Image had some big stuff as did Avatar press: Invincible #53 (which I didn’t get due to some BS with Diamond), Four Eyes #1 and No Hero #1. So I was happy there.
Even still, there were 2 Marvel titles that caught my eye that no one else called for review and here they be for ye:
A small week, yes, but let’s proceed. I’ll indulge you with some coolness.
**blah spoilers blah more blah break**
Punisher War Journal #24
Frank’s in jail guys. He’s in damn… wait! He got out this month! Thanks Secret Invasion! So, our favorite vigilante is out on the run and the Skrulls have no idea what they’re in for. Basically, I’m going to sum things up as this: Frank Castle decides to kill every last Skrull he sees and S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t sure they should stop him. G.W. Bridge is of course sent out to find him and this issue just plain kicks ass. I’m even able to deal with the art it’s so good. Definitely a good start to this arc.
Venom: Dark Origins #3
This month, we see the turn of Eddie Brock: The turn from Eddie Brock to Venom is a sudden one and Eddie couldn’t be happier. He gets the Venom symbiote inhis body and doesn’t want to fight it; he just wants to destroy Spider-Man at any cost. This month’s issue leads up to a definite awesome next two issues with tons of very awesome art and writing coming from this book. This is becoming a very, very awesome origin story.
