Ultimate Comics Avengers #1 -- Look at these bad asses.
Here we are, a new era of comics… Sort of.
Mark Millar is back working for Marvel’s Ultimate line in a post-Ultimatum universe where everything was simply blown to hell. Nick Fury is back in the universe–thanks to a nice deus ex machina bit from Ultimatum–and this new series deals with one thing: Black Ops. Mind you, Nick Fury’s showing up only makes things more kick ass–as I will explain–so bear with me.
I’ve been out of the Ultimate universe for a bit given how bad people have been talking about Jeph Loeb and Ultimatum, so I picked this comic up post-convention and being super hyped for 1) a new Millar comic and 2) Ultimate Captain America being more of a bad ass via Millar’s writing. Let me say one thing: this comic does not disappoint.
No major spoilers. I promise.

Hello everybody and thanks for checking out my first article here at Destroythecyb.org! Back in July 2007, New Avengers #31 revealed that the Hand had been infiltrated by the alien race know as the Skrulls and Danny Rand asked the question, “What does this all mean?”
One year later, it all comes together in Brian Michael Bendis‘ new series, Secret Invasion. While it’s only been a few months, this truly epic saga is so vast that, before I review the latest issue, I’m going to bring everyone up to speed on the whole series.
After the break, my synopsis of the Secret Invasion plot so far. Warning: MAJOR SPOILERS.

 Marvel 1985 #5 cover
I’ve never read a comic book so fast in my life until I got Marvel 1985 #5 today. This month’s issue is seriously a weird one. Given, that it’s Mark Millar it’s golden and amazing but maybe something of unpolished good. Let me just say Mark Millar and Tommy Lee Edwards are a duo that have more power than any of us could imagine.
If you get my drift as to how this issue was, read on for some more fun stuff and a bit more of my understanding of this issue and my “how the hell is this going to end” predictions… this issue lead into a lot of things that… well they blew my mind.

Are you a blogger? Have you ever blogged? Well, then I believe that True Believers #1 (titled “Payback is a Bitch” which is just funny for reasons you’ll see if you read on) from Marvel comics would be just right for you. The story of underground bloggers who are dead-set at taking a stab at karmic justice by uncovering the ununcoverable stories and then blogging about it from their ‘untraceable proxy server’ debuts this month and it was nothing short of spectacular.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of this title, as I don’t think it was highly promoted, but I was simply amazed at how great of a first issue True Believers #1 was and for that reason I highly recommend it.

I had fully intended to write my first blog post of the (comic) week on Secret Invasion: Runaways/Young Avengers, because I was most excited about this issue coming out this week. And after reading that comic first this week, I was already planning what I was going to write tonight. However, that synopsis/review is going to have to wait until tomorrow at least, because immediately after reading SI: Runways/Young Avengers, I read Fantastic Four #558 and HOLY SHIT!!! I was blown away. After the break, Doctor Doom is back, who are the New Defenders? and WTF?!?!?!? The Hulk? Prepare yourself, cause my full recap and review is after the break, with lots of awesome spoilers.
