 New Avengers #50 Cover
Man, another incredibly slow week. Lots of comics are coming out, so make sure you actually look to see if your favorite is on the docket this week. However, not much in the way of new or groundbreaking issues to talk about. Still, I’ve got 3 to tell you about, so yeah, you should still stick around and read.
New Avengers #50
The biggest issue of the week will undoubtedly be New Avengers #50. You know when a milestone issue like this is hit, there’s going to be a pretty big deal made of it. Brian Michael Bendis is no different, of course, throwing the New Avengers right up against the Dark Avengers. This is a special over-sized issue (with a special, over-sized price of $4.99), so there will probably be some fun extras thrown in, and maybe extra story too!

 Ultimate Fantastic Four #60
An undeniably slow week in the comic world this week. While many of you will be picking up plenty of issues of your favorite series which are in the middle of the arc, there’s very little new stuff starting up. So, you may be buying a lot, but there’s not much new or exciting stuff to point out. Nevertheless, I’ve complied 4 books (all Marvel, sorry) that you might want to take a look at when you visit the shop this week.
Ultimate Fantastic Four #60
So, it’s the last issue. Pretty much the only thing that makes this worth noting. Truthfully, the series has gone down hill lately and Ultimatum hasn’t really done much to make it better. But, still, being that it is the final issue, it is worth noting here.

 Secret Warriors #1 Cover
Apparently, this is the week of the “#1″ issues. Seriously everyone, there’s just a ton of new comics starting this week. If you can’t find something new to pick up, you aren’t trying hard enough! Being that there’s enough first issues to fill 2 of these posts, I’m going to focus completely on these in this post. So check out the list below and pick out a couple of new books to start reading this week!
Secret Warriors #1
Secret Warriors is likely going to be the star book of the week (and probably the month). From the creative brain-mass of Brian Michael Bendis (I like to call him BMB) and written by up-and-coming superstar Jonathan Hickman, Secret Warriors is set up to be the spy book of Dark Reign. Oh yes, Nick Fury and his band of not-so-merry men (and women) are digging deep into the seedy underbelly of Norman Osborn‘s administration and pulling out all the juicy little secrets for us. Don’t miss this one!

Final Crisis #6 Cover... Alex Ross is amazing
It’s another slow week in comics. Perhaps the publishers are giving us a couple weeks off after barraging us with tons of books over the holidays. Or maybe they are preparing for big things in the next couple of months. It seems to me that maybe it’s a little of both. Anyway, there’s still some stuff you should look at this week.
Final Crisis #6
I’m only putting Final Crisis in here because this issue is suppose to finish off the Batman R.I.P. arc. DC, in a complete ass hole move, decided that you’d have to buy Final Crisis in order to get the full story of what happened to Batman. But, I guess you can’t blame them. They are in this business to make money. Screw the whole “telling good stories thing”. I guess they leave that for Marvel.

 Cable #10 Cover
After two HUGE weeks in comics, this week brings a much needed break, which is great for my sanity (and my wallet). Still, though, there are a bunch of great comics that you should pick up this week at the shop.
Cable #10
This week brings the end of the “Waiting for the End of the World” arc in Cable. Duane Swierczynski has been rocking this series all along, but this arc has really upped the ante on the whole Messiah Complex thing. Will Bishop succeed in killing Cable and the baby? Probably not. But things should continue to get more interesting as we get closer and closer to the big Messiah War crossover with X-Force.
Dead of Night Featuring Werewolf By Night #1
While we are talking about Duane Swierczynski, he’s got another book coming out this week. The Dead of Night series continues from Marvel MAX imprint with the first issue of this limited series featuring Werewolf By Night. Just like the other 2 Dead of Night series, I know nothing about this character, but this series does a great job bringing these minor horror characters back into the spotlight.
Secret Invasion: War of Kings Cover
Secret Invasion: War of Kings
Coming directly out of the Inhumans Secret Invasion series and leading directly into the upcoming War of Kings cosmic event comes this one-shot. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning (aka DnA) never fail to write great cosmic tales and this intro into War of Kings should be no different. Check it out!
Punisher #1
Frank Castle finally matters again in the Marvel universe. Punisher relaunches this week with an all new series by Rick Remender. Punisher is mad as hell about the events of Dark Reign and is looking to do some… well… punishing. Check out this first issue for great, bloody action as only the Punisher can bring.
No Hero #3
This week continues Warren Ellis‘ amazing new series, No Hero. We’ve covered how great this series is several times on this site, so you should know you should be buying it. Just thinking about it makes me wish I was at the comic shop right now…
That’s it for this week, ladies and gents. Don’t forget to make your weekly pilgrimage down to the LCS and happy reading!

Happy new year, dear readers. Sure, tomorrow is Friday and many of us have to go back to work just one day before the weekend, but hey, comics come out tomorrow, so that’s good news, right? Apparently, releasing comics on Christmas Eve is not a problem, but New Years Eve is a different story. But I digress. Just in time to help you get over your hangover or the shock that it is suddenly 2009, here’s what you can look forward to when you make your trip to the comic shop this week.

 Secret Invasion: Dark Reign Cover
Hello again, everyone! I’m back once again with the Weekly Previews post. Took last week off cause, well, last week was crazy. Hopefully you all got along fine without me. Didn’t feel too lost at the comic book shop, did ya? Things get a little slow this week, unfortunately. Apparently, following the end of Secret Invasion, Marvel needs a week off. And over on the DC side… well, it’s DC, they don’t come out with much of interest anyway.
So what do I have? Well, Dark Reign starts. Also, Punisher relaunches. Over at DC, new Nightwing. And then there’s my indie pick, back once again! Don’t go anywhere, there’s more to come!
Secret Invasion: Dark Reign
Sick of Secret Invasion yet? Well, too bad! Cause this week, we’ve got the Dark Reign one-shot to read. If you are excited about Dark Reign like I am, you have to pick this up. Bad idea to call this a Secret Invasion title, as we are all tired of SI, but nonetheless, you should check this out. Brian Michael Bendis is writing it and the impeccable Alex Maleev is providing the art, so it’ll be interesting and beautiful.

 Batman #681 Cover
Well, folks, for us Americans, Thursday marks a very momentous holiday: Thanksgiving. Really, it screams what the US is all about. Eating a lot of food and then falling asleep watching football. But it is also the time to spend with family and catch up. And when you get sick of that, you’ll be happy that you bought a ton of comics this week to read instead of talking with Aunt Karen (seriously, I have an Aunt Karen and she’s really weird).
If you’re still behind from the last couple of weeks (I know I am!), this might be a good catch up week. There’s a few gems to look forward to, but still a relatively slow week. This week, I’ve got the death of Batman, the end of some Secret Invasion tie-ins, and the beginnings of the end of the Ultimate X-Men for you. So stick around and see what these 4 titles have in store for you.

 Ultimatum #1 Cover
Here’s what you can look forward to tomorrow at the comic shop. And for you US readers, get out to the polls and make your voice heard in this very important election.
Ultimatum #1
The beginning of the end (or beginning) for the Ultimate Universe is finally here! How much is Jeph Loeb going to screw up or save the Ultimate Universe? You’ll only find out if you pick up this series and find out what’s coming.
Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel #1
New superheroes are always intriguing when they are brought to life. And Blue Marvel is set to be the newest superhero in the Marvel universe. Though I am not a huge fan of Kevin Grevioux, I am interested to see what this series is going to bring. If you’re looking for something new out of the House of Ideas, this is your chance to get in on the bottom floor.
Iron Man: The End #1
I have only read one “The End” story, and that was X-Men: The End, but I was really impressed with how interesting and imaginative it was. Hopefully, this week’s Iron Man: The End will start things off right for this story of an alternate future for old Shellhead.
That’s it for this week, folks. There’s a lot of other really great books coming out this week, but this is all I had time to write about. So make sure you make it down to that local comic shop and check out this week’s releases. And, of course, Happy Reading!

 Marvel 1985 #6 Cover
Jeez. It’s Tuesday already? Things have been crazy in this blogger’s life and I haven’t even finished last week’s comics yet and here we are with a new batch already! Hopefully the other reviews on this site have kept you entertained as I attempt to get back to some sort of schedule where I can actually read and review comics. Nevertheless, I am here to preview your Halloween week comics, so sit back, relax and check out these great comics that will be at your LCS this week!
Marvel 1985 #6
On time and everything, Marvel 1985 wraps up this week. How is this crazy story going to end? And will Mark Millar somehow tie this mini-series back to the main Marvel universe? And how about to his other Marvel books right now? All questions will hopefully be answered tomorrow when issue 6 hits the stands!
